Artist statement
I create multimedia installations and performances that incorporate sculptural forms, digital media, and, most importantly, interpersonal exchange. While I use video, sound, and spatial design, my primary medium is the shared experience with the audience. My process begins with a historical moment, often one marginalized or erased. Through archival research and visual mapping, I translate these narratives into immersive environments that collapse past and present while responding to contemporary architectures. For me, performance is an act of liberation, from the confines of institutions, traditional theater, and systemic boundaries. Performers move through layered spaces, activating sound and invite the audience into multi-sensory engagements. Influenced by Ana Mendieta, Adrian Piper, Lorraine O’Grady, Joan Jonas, and William Pope.L, I create spaces for reflection, confrontation, and transformation, where the artwork becomes a site of reckoning, memory, and reimagining.
