Artist statement
My artistic practice stems from an ongoing interest in transformation, instability, and the dynamic relationship between order and chaos. I work with systems in which seemingly stable structures are subjected to variation, mutation, and unpredictable forms of development. Chaos theory is relevant to my practice through the idea that minimal variations occurring within an organized system can generate radically different configurations, and that complex structures of order may exist beneath apparent disorder. A defining aspect of my work is this continuous negotiation between control and unpredictability. I often begin with an imposed order—a module, a repetitive structure, a network, a sequence—within which deviation, accident, and proliferation are allowed to emerge. Order does not disappear; it remains embedded within apparent disorder. Repetition does not produce identical forms: each recurrence introduces difference, and the work begins to operate less as a fixed composition than as an evolving system. Within this territory, body, matter, and environment lose their stable identities, while the boundaries between organic and artificial, human and non-human, familiar and unfamiliar become permeable. The human nevertheless remains a point of reference within this transformation—not as a stable form or a privileged measure of the world, but as memory, presence, and a point of departure for possible forms of becoming. I am less interested in representing the body than in...
