Artist statement

In my artistic journey, I find inspiration in the ethereal realm of puffy clouds, idyllic landscapes, and kaleidoscope skies, often augmented by a touch of herbal tranquility. The natural world has always held a profound significance for me, and this connection runs deep within my subconscious, where my imagination weaves nature into the fabric of my creative practice. My artworks embody a tapestry of emotions, memories, and passions, capturing the essence of the natural world as I personally perceive it. While the environment remains a universal theme in my work, my art has evolved in tandem with my own personal growth. Initially, I delved into the intricate realm of two-dimensional landscape sewing, focusing so intensely on capturing nature's inherent beauty that I overlooked its transient allure. As my own state of being underwent transformations, so did my perspective of the natural world. My current body of work revolves around wall landscapes crafted from hand-dyed textile waste, collaged, sewn, and stuffed. Drawing inspiration from sculptural relief art, I manipulate these textiles to evoke vivid dreams and fading environments, symbolizing the inability of nature to heal itself in our ever-changing world.
