Lives and works in Austin, TX, USA
Artist statement
As a working Psychic Medium, my deepest interest in this lifetime is the linkage between the spiritual self and our inescapable human condition. I return again and again to excavate (through the use of photography, soft sculpture and painting) watershed events, both personal and historical that either burn or build bridges between the spirit and the human. This work is inspired greatly by the first recorded Humanist Movement, wherein some of the original attempts to cultivate freedom in artistic expression appear, reflecting social commentary on autonomy. My work is created in communication with spirit, always. Colors are used specifically to heal aspects of the energetic body that are or may be triggered when viewing the content of the work. I frequently use nostalgia and metaphor to provoke the vulnerable parts of others, in order to draw out a child-like, spiritually awakened curiosity. For it is from this place that communication is set free from polarity to a more expansive perspective.
