Artist statement

Born Mexico City April 15 1977. Bachelors degree at the National University of Fine arts in Mexico City (1997- 2001) in Fine Arts and Postgraduate diploma in Fine arts at Goldmsith´s College London University (2003- 2004.) The main focus of the work deals with exploring the notion of memory, time, its function and drawing as a catalyst to create a critical vision and questions of today´s over saturated methods that create an image to linger in memory and create agency. The practice is overtly open to interpretations and visions. Irony and humour play an important part in the practice over a sense of play that filters through the work making the experience one that envelops the viewer in a engaging experience. His work has been shown an several groups and solo shows both in Mexico and abroad (USA, India, UK, Spain, El Salvador, Rumania to name a few) and has been awarded drawing awards (Lunas del Auditorio award 2008) and grants from the Mexican governement (Young creators grant award 2006-2007) and private institutions.
