Lives and works in New York City, NY
Artist statement
My work explores fractured perception and belonging through images that are continuously forming and disintegrating, using a painting process of layering and erasure. My work begins with instability, drawing from forms signifying change rather than permanence, such as water, scaffolding walls, and peeling posters. I use materials that resist fixation, including pastels, ink, and water-based paint. Color in my paintings moves between the natural and the digital: what could be sea or horizon could also be a pixelated gradient. Experimenting with opacity, glow, and gravity, I builds unstable environments where natural and artificial atmospheres overlap, and water, dust, and light become metaphors for mediated perception and impermanence.
