Lives and works in Bucharest, Romania

Artist statement

I am a poet and visual artist working across oil painting, graphics, video installation, animation, and poetry. Central to my practice is the exploration of seeing and the limits of perception - an attempt to capture the moving image of the world. I understand sight not as a relation to things themselves, but to the ways they appear, pass, and endure. The image, for me, is a form of life where the visible and invisible alternate in a continual questioning of the object. A brief loss of sight profoundly shaped this perspective. It revealed that before being seen, the world and its image are a fog, a possibility, an uninterrupted flicker of appearances and reflections—shadows of thought that cling to the first obstacle in their path, a material field of attributes disputed by sight and vision. That is why the theme of light is at the core of my research: light can be, at the same time, body, medium, and relation. Light is what gives form and consistency to the world. Light, in all its forms, connects matter and memory. In the time we have been given, each of us contributes a perspective to the larger image of the world we share. My work seeks to capture these fleeting moments of perception, to make visible the vibrant interplay of light, form, and time, and to offer viewers a space to encounter both the seen and the unseen.
