Artist statement

My art is an expression of deeper universal and spiritual experiences articulated by means of the power of color. Even if the color is dominant within a given artwork, this is always built upon some underlying philosophical questions relating to "conditio humana": the universality of what it means to be a human. Art is so crucial to me because it creates the space of a specific internal dialog which I conduct with my Self. Art makes it possible to understand not only what is outside, but also that which lies inside, what lies beneath what can be seen as explicit. Art, in particular abstract artworks, is the way of interpreting the world around me from the hermeneutic perspective. Art is a means of translation of our views, emotions, thoughts, perceptions, experiences, etc. The sentences below symbolize my approach to art, abstraction, and my original conception of Mir., i.e. a generic name which I employ to refer to my abstract artworks. What is art? It is the searching for answers to the emerging questions. It is the path along which the artist goes. The most beautiful thing in painting is that it develops imagination, allows for dreaming continuously, gives hope for a better tomorrow and strength to live, masters the perception of the world, determines the meaning of life... Art means the perception of life, philosophy, elusive thought, pain of mind and heart, scream of despair, conversation with God and Death, uttering one’s own thoughts, feelings, dreams, desires......
