Lives and works in Antioch, CA

Artist statement

I was born and raised in Flint, Michigan, a city the world knows for what it lost. My work is about what remains. Across sculpture, photography, and film, I follow people, places, and landscapes through change, often forced, to find what endures on the other side. My sculpture HER holds the resilience it takes to find your way from discarded pieces and multiple pivots and still emerge full of strength and grace. Through that same lens, my other practices find beauty in the discarded, stories still worth telling, forgotten spaces reclaimed, and new ways to define home. I've been shaped by the people and places that raised me, and by the shoulders I was blessed to peek over, each offering a glimpse of something different to strive for. I'm less interested in what change takes from us and more intrigued by what it forces us to become. I invite you to see identity, the world, and its spaces the way I see clay: never finished, always becoming.
