Artist statement
My art ranges from oil painting to delicate paper structures, cast from objects such as pots and shoes, using torn drawings & paintings. As my CV shows, I explore powerful themes through commissioned projects and residencies, including disability history, cinema, historical trauma and jazz music. Although diverse, there are many layers of meaning which run through all these artistic investigations. They all track a shifting relationship with time. Each new work feels like a fresh approach to the fragile and transitory nature of visual experience.
