How can a visual artist depict something that is inherently invisible? Annika Klein’s practice delves into the challenges of living with chronic illness while appearing externally healthy. This ongoing negotiation with my body’s limitations and contradictions materializes across painting, collage, and installation—and metabolizes references from the artist’s daily life, art history, and medical literature.
