Lives and works in Athens, Greece
Artist statement
My practice emerges through a multidimensional research approach and my activity as an art and antiquities conservator. I focus on sites in transition, which may include industrial areas, regions affected by natural disasters, or even archaeological excavations. I examine material culture in relation to the living landscape and create works and installations I refer to as “material narratives.” My main interests include material transformation and transmutation, alternative temporalities, and the use of archaeological methodology as a tool for artistic practice. Through the dynamic interaction between these two fields, I explore issues related to different perceptions of the environment and aspects of the environmental crisis, through present or hypothetical scenarios.
