Artist statement
Using lens based media, sound, sculpture and installation, my work explores the elemental and temporal forces that shape the Earth in relation to human and non-human life. Whether looking deep within the Earth, at its surface, or at the planetary level, I examine macro and microcosmic shifts in perspective, scale, and time to reveal an intricate network of co-existing and collaborating bodies. I explore perceptual shifts in metaphysical understanding through an expansion of sensory experience, technological abstraction and investigations of scale and temporality - searching for humanity’s role and identity as we move into an ever more automated, artificial, robotic and alien world.
