Lives and works in Italy

Artist statement

My practice developed from an Applied Arts background concerning Contemporary Jewelry into a multidisciplinary language, using the acquired knowledge sometimes as methodology, sometimes as content of the work. The work is process-oriented and immersed in becoming and transformation. There is a strong but subtle connection to the materiality of things. With its forces and laws, such as gravity, density, light and shadow, I translate my questions into material. Time is an immanent element. It can be inherent in the material or serve as a conceptual component for a narrative. I analyze events, examine conditions and systems. The aspects that attract me most are the ephemeral and the limits of matter, as well as dual relationships, such as the space between two people, the space between an object and its shadow, or the space within space. These take shape into installation, sculpture, performance, video and painting.
