Artist statement

I have been compulsively cycling through series of work, trying to find “the thing,” or Freud’s “das ding”: the thing that cannot be directly known. There is an emphasis on a multiplicity of probabilities, since matter at the subatomic level is more wave than particle. There also is a political subtext in the paintings’ internal structures, contradictions and irrationalities.
