Lives and works in Brooklyn, NY, USA
Artist statement
My work explores the relationship between the body and mind. With influences as diverse as Carraviaggio and Fracis Bacon, new tensions are created from both explicit and implicit structures. Every Image I create comes from endless adventures in the city, walking aimlessly with music in my ears. I collect imagery from NYC, and manipulate my emotions with the songs I choose. Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated by the essential unreality of the mind. What starts out as yearning soon becomes manipulated into a hegemony of power, leaving only a sense of what could have been and the unlikelihood of a new synthesis. As intermittent derivatives become distorted through emergent and diverse practice, the viewer is left with an epitaph for the edges of our condition.
