Artist statement

My paintings play host to a collision of impressionism, spacial color play, and a love of traditional folk animation. With storytelling as a touchstone, I celebrate ecological systems with an urban perspective. The mystery of the subconscious has a tangible nature, as I pull tight to the chest and hold precious in my details, then withdraw into physically expressive, at times even skittish, mark-making. I am captivated by the intuitive exploration and poetry of oil paint.
