Lives and works in London, UK

Artist statement

Dear All, My name is CCA Stone, an artist from London and this is my artist statement re my current works. Nothingness. I keep coming back to it in almost all the work that I make. This series is about (questioning) reality and -specifically now- the real-ness of enacted scenes, taken from television, movies or fictional worlds like video games. Hyperrealistic pen drawings, set up and presented in the way you would do photographs or - drawings: floating vertically, within a large passepartout mount, framed behind glass. Whilst aesthetically pleasing these vignettes portraying states of stillness, emptiness, nothingness, ask the question: “what exactly is real?” Accompanying the work there is an audio installation; a soundscape inspired from the different moods set out in the original source material. More grandiose and speaking to the idea of ‘the nothing’ in a more primordial fashion are three large oil paintings depicting fire. Mixing it up visually and at the same time showcasing a first attempt at painting with oil, I feel the works would work greatly benefit from each others presence. I am happy to answer any questions you may have Thank you for reading, cca stone
