Lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark

Artist statement

Cecilia Fiona (b. 1997) is a Copenhagen based artist working across painting, sculpture and performance in an interconnected practice in which each medium extends and informs the others. Her performances embody the biomorphic forms that emerge within her paintings, while her sculptural works expand the landscapes and narratives developed through her imagery. Employing organic materials such as paper pulp, shells, branches, rabbit-skin glue, jute, loofah and natural pigments, Fiona explores the relationship between the body and the earth. Drawing on mythology, human and plant biology and imagination, she creates speculative worlds inhabited by hybrid beings that dissolve distinctions between human, nature and cosmos. Across her work, figures, landscapes and ecosystems continuously transform into one another, proposing alternative ways of understanding interconnectedness and coexistence. Fiona has presented solo exhibitions internationally at institutions such as TOWNER, Eastbourne, UK (2026) and Copenhagen Contemporary, Copenhagen, DK (2025). Her work has been included in group exhibitions at Bergen Kunsthall, Bergen (2026); La Casa Encendida, Madrid (2026); The Drawing room, London (2026); Skaftfell Art Center, Iceland (2026); HEART – Herning Museum of Contemporary Art, Herning, Denmark (2025); and SIXI Museum, Nanjing, China (2024). In 2027 she will present her work in a group show at Den Frie - Centre of Contemporary art (copenhagen) and open her first solo show with...
