Artist statement

I am an artist based in Glasgow. I’m primarily a painter, although I also work in drawing, writing and photography. I see my studio practice as an evolving study in image and meaning-making. I am interested in how visual culture is conditioned by a combination of determining factors; a potpourri of antecedent influences and contemporary circumstances. I am interested in why the world looks the way it does, and the role appearances play in informing the parameters through which we develop knowledge collectively.
