Chase Ferguson

Lives and works in New York, NY, USA

Artist statement

Sculptor and fine artist Chase Ferguson was born in Brooklyn in 1988. Diagnosed with Autism at the age of three, he has been attending Pure Vision Arts since 2011. As a young child Ferguson had a passion for transportation and began creating his own toys: cars, buses and train sets out of paper and tape. Using sheer ingenuity, found materials and a savant memory for detail, Ferguson has created a totally unique and distinctive body of work including parking meters, streetlights and vehicles. Using the most humble of materials like cardboard, tape and hot glue, Ferguson creates his subjects in great detail down to the make, year and model. Often overlooked, these ordinary realities of NYC living are of particular interest to Ferguson. He creates his sculptures with pride of place, assigning them special value for their unheralded roll in making our lives functional. Ferguson is very prolific and passionate about his art and has created over 500 vehicles and 100 parking meters sculptures at Pure Vision Arts. Ferguson is a popular and beloved international artist. His work is included in numerous private and museum collections both in the United States, Belgium, London, Australia and the Netherlands.
