Artist statement

I find joy in the uncharted territory of non-objective, intuitive acrylic painting. Transitioning from the structured world of public policy to the liberating practice of abstraction, my work becomes a spontaneous expression of emotions and sensations. Each canvas serves as a refuge, allowing thoughts and feelings to flow freely without constraint. Engaging in a daily practice, I've embraced the tactile nature of chunky painterly strokes, inviting viewers to feel connected to the unfolding narrative of each piece. The energetic dance with the canvas is a deliberate effort to avoid overthinking and judgment, creating a space where serendipity and strength coalesce. I may be a quiet person, preferring a background role, but I am a loud painter, expressing myself vibrantly on the canvas/panel.
