Artist statement

As Artist, I seek not only to comment on and critique societal problems¨ but to realize a social context where groups of persons can participate in the discovery of creative solutions to these problems. Through the participatory involvement of people in a project—be this a sculpture ¨an installation¨ or an interactive performance—the audience is more likely to be affected by my chosen theme. Being interactive and therefore immersive a work’s “message” can speak for itself. In this way ¨the essentially interactive quality pervading my work also shades into its meaning¨, which is generally commentary on ecology globalism and interconnectivity. What’s really important is that viewers finds themselves inside the issue¨ environed by it. If people just watch TV or read the newspaper or listen to the radio¨ they can easily forget what they hear. But if there’s a communal ¨ participatory involvement around a certain issue¨ people are more likely be taken in or influenced by it¨ and to reflect on their everyday conduct accordingly.
