Artist statement

I am a digital artist working primarily with moving image, sound, and motion graphics to explore perception, emotion, and the ways we experience the world through our senses. My work often begins with a word, a sentence, a sound, or a feeling. I translate these starting points into visual forms, using movement, color, rhythm, and sound to give shape to experiences that are difficult to describe in words. I am interested in the moment when something we hear, feel, or imagine begins to take visual form. Language and sound have been a continuous influence on my practice. Growing up in a multilingual environment, I became aware from an early age that different languages can describe the same experience in very different ways. The sound and rhythm of a language can also carry feelings and associations beyond its literal meaning. This sensitivity to language and sound continues to shape how I think about images and motion. Through my work, I explore the space between sound, feeling, perception, and imagination. I am interested in how an external experience can become something entirely personal once it passes through our senses and imagination.
