Lives and works in Toronto, ON, Canada
Artist statement
Cindy Hill's uses found objects and textiles to examine the relationship between our material world and perceptions of the body. In her practice, Hill reflects on the history of health and sexuality amongst women, re-contextualizing objects used to treat and care for the body. Engaging with feminist discourse on intimacy and desire, her work dissects the patriarchal mechanisms through which gender is constructed and reinforced through our material surroundings.
