Lives and works in Brooklyn, NY, USA

Artist statement

I am a multidisciplinary artist born in Mexico City and based in Brooklyn. Working primarily through sculpture, ceramics, metal, and wood, I explore material relationships, labor, and the systems that quietly organize everyday life. My work often begins with overlooked forms from domestic and built environments: pipes, sinks, drains, grates, hinges, channels, and provisional supports, which I translate into objects that move between the functional and poetic. The values guiding my practice are close attention, material curiosity, and respect for the knowledge held within craft. I believe that materials are not neutral: their weight, fragility, origin, and resistance shape the meaning of a work. Repetition, fabrication, and the evidence of the hand are central to my process. By making industrial-looking forms slowly and by hand, I create objects that retain traces of touch, time, and labor while resisting the anonymity of mass production.
