Artist statement

Sweepings is an intimate examination of detritus. Debris, dust, lint, and hair accumulate—in corners, under furniture, or in the drain—until they are casually swept up and discarded. The drawings in Sweepings reveal the intricate beauty of these objects of detritus, as they simultaneously animate and arrest the overlooked evidence of our inevitable disintegration.
