Darreon Carbin’s work ranges from self portrait photography that reflects themes of identity and experience to his surrealist collages that reflect personal narrative. Inspired by artists like Cindy Sherman and Yasumasa Morimura, Carbin often photographs himself to explore identities and critique outward perceptions of identity. His collage work is inspired by artists like Maggie Taylor and Salvador Dalí and uses symbolism and unlikely imagery to tell stories.
