Lives and works in NYC, NY, USA
Artist statement
I am a multidisciplinary artist and am also an avid open water swimmer who swims daily in NY harbor. I work in a range of mediums including sculpture, video, performance, painting, and drawing. Regardless of the medium I choose, my art is an exploration of the tensions that arise when the body confronts its surroundings, and a celebration of the beauty that emerges from that struggle. My recent focus revolves around capturing unseen currents (both physical and psychological) beneath the water's surface. It is also about exploring my own boundaries and limits as a land dweller and examining my ability to stay afloat in a world that I often feel disconnected from.
