Artist statement

Artist Statement The Buddhists believe that, “ The question is the answer”. I believe the same. My paintings pose questions. They reveal paradoxes. They depict unresolved situations and conversations between animate and inanimate things. I want to capture energy with color and form. Everything is in a state of metamorphosis. I am a treasure hunter by nature. I let my paintings guide me. The resolution and message of the finished work is the treasure. My paintings explore the interplay of surrealism and abstraction, romanticism, and the darker side of fairy tales.I am painting about the human condition; the passages of a life, the lessons and the adages passed down from generation to generation. These are the things that preoccupy my imagination. I hope to make others question their world as a result of witnessing my work.
