Artist statement

My work is / in process. I draw one glyph at a time on my tablet. Each is a world, a moment, a part of speech. That’s how it starts. I am building a vocabulary for a system driven by design, code, and chance. I imagine these motifs, patterns, and characters are the artifacts of a better future. They will be combined, animated, transformed, adapted and given meaning by others. The digital master file is the endless original; everything else is output. For now, the line flows. Words and time stop. Drawing is my meditation.
