Artist statement

My name is Dominic Haberman. I am an artist currently residing in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Over the past three years, I have been developing a professional art practice creating three dimensional works utilizing light-weight materials and reclaimed objects. My work represents a hybrid of traditional mixed media painting and sculpture. My objective has been to maintain the elements of design inherent to sculpture, while incorporating methods and materials that allow the works to also function as hangable art pieces. My most recent work involves a series of Pop Art inspired designs that explore the energy, aggression, force of movement, and dynamic composition employed by past artists in the fields of graphic novel illustration, animation and film, commercial advertisement, and graphic design. Currently, I have been collaborating with Bill Mowers of Bad Yeast Technologies to develop three dimensional prints of existing work. My goal is to become one of the first-to-market artists offering 3D Printed Reproductions of original artwork.
