Lives and works in Waterford, Ireland
Artist statement
My work begins in the quiet spaces between memory and myth. It has been greatly influenced by the landscape of my childhood, its hills, mountains and wildflowers. For me, art is play. I have always gravitated towards mixed-media art, as it offers infinite possibilities for storytelling, for blending materials, textures and worlds. I always seek to create work that invites viewers to explore each piece with curiosity and a sense of discovery, to engage with that sense of play. I particularly enjoy working with print media and cut paper, as they give me the freedom to reshape narratives and explore the blurred boundary between the natural world and inner experience. I love incorporating found materials into my pieces, such as sand, wood, thread and cloth. This allows me to create layers of texture, to add a sense of connection to each piece. My work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, and it has been added to private collections in Ireland, Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States.
