Lives and works in Indianapolis, IN
Artist statement
Every stroke carries the roar of the jaguar, the flight of the quetzal, and the voice of my ancestors. I am Guatemalan and I paint in acrylic, with my hands and my heart. What I paint is not from the past: it is from right now. I paint so that my people and my land are not forgotten. This is contemporary Maya art — not a copy of what was, but what lives in me today.
