Artist statement
I'm a visual storyteller. I love color and texture-they are my language. I consider myself a visual storyteller. The backstory is what really inspires me to paint. I am drawn to paint portraits, behind every face is multitude of experiences and stories and I want to capture them. I spend a lot of time doing research before doing a painting or a commission - trying to get to know the inner workings of the subject. It's that personal connection that I want to exude in my work. I have been working with resin and textural mediums-creating stunning abstract pieces. I am classically trained in Illustration and graduated with honors from Art Center College of Design in 1996. I went on to have a fruitful career as a Lead designer/Art Director for many years. I decided to go back to painting after a long hiatus. Life is good. I live in the Central Coast of California, which has a wealth of beauty to inspire me.
