Artist statement

ERIKA ACHEC. Born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1984, she lives and works in Madrid, Spain today. Upon his arrival in Spain in 2018, together with another group of photographers, he created the collective Highlighter hub and Shkole Photography, where he rediscovered and focused his vision on the visual arts. He is currently spreading his artistic work "Made in Venezuela". A project that starts from the critical need to reveal certain imposed models, a multiple exercise based on previous research with specific details provided by specialists in the field, applied to digital photography, where a visual narrative is woven that reveals patterns, questions logic and raises new criteria. In his works he revives the discussions around the relationships between the human body and the network of signs in which it is wrapped, molded, exhibited, listened to, feels, in contemporary society.
