Artist statement

At the present time, the emphasis of my current series is on the forces exerting on the bodies that are physically struggling with one another. While such forces are applied from one body to another, not these forces nor do their impacts are merely vicious, yet they are taking shape through the very act of imposition. Similar dynamism is involved in my process of art making; once I start thinking of a new piece, it feels like the potential figures start struggling and battling in my head to turn themselves into “actual” figures. Thus, my figures are nothing near passive and yet their active, propelled movement is toward nowhere but nothingness.
