Artist statement
Photography and painting are my way of understanding the world around me. Sculpture and wearable art are where emotion takes shape. Each piece is both an act of making and an act of release. My current work investigates the search for place - within myself, within community, and within the vastness of the world. Through photography, I explore both the full picture and the smallest details, uncovering stories in nature, people, and everyday objects. My sculptures and wearable pieces blend copper, silver, and gold wire with the contrasting textures of gemstones, crystals, and stones, creating forms that embody both strength and vulnerability. Inspired by my travels and the conversations I share with family, friends, strangers, and clients, I seek a deeper understanding of belonging, connection, and the impact we have on one another. My work is a visual meditation on identity, belonging, and discovery. Ultimately, I want viewers to feel how insignificantly significant they are (small within the expanse of the world, yet capable of leaving a meaningful mark) and to feel inspired to carve out a place for themselves
