Lives and works in Hong Kong
Artist statement
Frederick M. Wong finds it important to be curious of everyday details that speak beauty in unexpected ways. These unintended human traces discovered in particular moments and places fascinate him. Living in a superdense city at a very fast pace, he regularly ‘decelerates’ to find balance in a chaotic world. Calmness and solidity are the qualities found in his works. Inspired by French pioneer photographer Eugene Atget, he is currently working on a black & white cities series that deals with the essence of making photographs – the limitations of light and time in our surroundings.
