Lives and works in New York, NY
Artist statement
I investigate the indistinct boundary between fantasy, vision, and reality. Dreams and memories are shades of the present, less real, less powerful somehow than what is occurring in the moment. As a child I experienced fever dreams, thanks to an un-diagnosed allergy to children's cold medication. The sicker I felt, the more medicine I had, and the lucid nightmares I experienced scaled at the same rate. In adulthood, I have twice been confronted with dreams so clear and purposeful that the path of my life changed. What I met in these moments dies when I wake. My work embodies them.
