Lives and works in Tallahassee, Florida
Artist statement
Whether diving into the blue waters of the East Coast or walking through a nature center, I am guided by the patterns and forms of the natural world. My work explores both my personal connection to the environment and the complex interconnections between ecological and digital systems. All interactions with nature are, in some way, mediated by technology, and I use coral and marine life as recurring symbols to reflect this entanglement. I begin with abstract paintings on wood panels, then reinterpret these environmental impressions through digital glitching and collage. Using CNC routers and laser cutters, I craft surfaces that blend the tactile with the technological, echoing the symbiotic relationships between organic life and human-made systems. Through a fusion of sculptural elements, oil painting, and digital printing, I evoke the rhythms and structures of nature, bridging micro and macro scales to spark wonder, reflection, and curiosity in the viewer.
