Lives and works in London, UK

Artist statement

ISABELLA BENSHIMOL TORO (b. 1994, Caracas, Venezuela) is a London-based artist whose work explores intimacy, domestic life, and the passage of time. Her practice spans photography, sculpture, and installation, all rooted in a desire to preserve moments that would otherwise disappear. Drawing on photography’s ability to hold an instant, she works with domestic objects, household appliances, and worn garments, preserving them in resin to create sculptures and installations. Fabrics appear wet or caught in the middle of drying, as though an action could remain unfinished forever. In these works, familiar gestures become abstract lines and forms, while the traces of an absent body remain present.
