Artist statement

Jalyn Turner is a multidisciplinary artist from Spokane, Washington, who lives and works in Jersey City, New Jersey. She graduated from Parsons School of Design in 2025 earning her Master’s of Fine Arts in Photography. Her work has been exhibited nationally, including Long Story Short (2026), Photoville (2025), The American Center For Photographers (2024), and internationally at Lishui Photography Festival (2025). She has also received recognition through Light Art Space (2026) and The Photo Review (2024), reinforcing her commitment to pushing the boundaries of photographic expression. Turner’s work is rooted in a life in transit, shaped by a desire to hold onto what has been left behind. Through abstraction, she creates a visual dialogue that blurs the line between what is remembered and what is imagined, mirroring the imperfect ways we reconstruct our stories and grieve our past experiences. Her work occupies the space where what’s gone still lingers.
