Lives and works in Madrid, Spain

Artist statement

Through sculptural practice, I investigate a mode of knowledge grounded in the sensory experience of matter and space. I am interested in discovering how forms manifest in our everyday experience and how, by attending to them without imposing a predetermined meaning, they can open us to that which we do not yet know. In the works of the artists I admire, I find a dimensionless horizon, a time that—being only present—appears continuous, and a reality that is not merely looked at, but seems to look back at us. I do not intend to explain, but rather to create the conditions for these moments to emerge in the encounter with the work. I seek to find forms that can be understood and communicated in an accessible language—forms that, without losing their depth, speak simply of our most intimate consciousness, of our primal wonder. I thus aim to construct a quiet landscape, featuring the most diverse and rich universe of a possible plastic reality. The sculptures themselves constitute this investigation: stone, wood, or metal, along with their processes of transformation, form the text that describes and answers the questions of my practice.
