Lives and works in Westbrook, ME, USA
Artist statement
My work moves between realism, data visualization, and resistance, creating intersections where personal gesture and public record collide. After three years conducting research in hematology and oncology at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard, I am returning to my art practice as an MFA candidate at MECA. My work critiques the slow dismantling of healthcare, the erosion of women’s rights, and the fragility of lives caught in the gaps of policy. I translate data on maternal and infant mortality, research funding, and reproductive access into visual forms that are both analytical and emotional. By grounding statistics in hand-painted textures and familiar symbols, I aim to reveal what is too often obscured by abstraction or bureaucracy. The work insists that bodies and numbers are inseparable. Through color, material, and form, I seek to not only show what is lost, but also to affirm the persistence of care in the face of erasure.
