Artist statement

I am an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores transmission practices, discarded objects, and climate resiliency. A daily walking ritual anchors my projects in physical space, fostering site-specific and non-linear thinking. I draw inspiration from biological forms and the fluid interplay between nature, technology, and the built environment. I contemplate overlapping time scales of geologic time and human understandings of time. My work contemplates the intricate interconnections and the mutable boundaries of dependence and survival amid environmental catastrophes. Communication serves as both a central theme and a methodological approach in my practice; involving tools like radios, cell phones, QR codes, and roadways. I am invested in the critical engagement with materials such as salt, charcoal, and plastic wires. My work embraces a playful approach, finding delight in the unexpected and fostering opportunities for collaboration, pranks, interspecies conversations, and the use of fugitive materials.
