Artist statement

Inspired by my drawings, I augment myself with face paint, costume contacts, and wigs to visually transform my appearance. I believe the physical body and face isn't fixed but a mutable material that can be changed to express one’s autonomy and inner self. I’m interested in augmentation and technology and how these fields can combine to push visual aesthetics forward. Through my performance pieces and sound project, Jessie.Mp3, I explore the integration of digitalization with the physical body and its effect on human identity.
