Artist statement
Using video, photography, installation, and performance, my work examines the issues of migration, construction of national identity, the notion of home, and one's connection to places. My ongoing body of work explores the nuances hypervisibility and invisibility in relation to safety and vulnerability. By employing humor, repetition and performative strategies, I make art that inspires the viewers to ask questions and to re-consider other possibilities.
