Lives and works in Geneva
Artist statement
Since 1996, I have been painting the everyday life of three imaginary characters - Vassili, Johan & Naïma - in a hyper-realistic manner. About a decade ago, I gifted my models an imaginary city. This city, Tchan-Zâca, is a metaverse, a collaborative creation of our team. It's an ideal city located within a floating island archipelago. I extend invitations to all the artists I encounter to virtually inhabit Tchan-Zâca and create and present their artworks there. My own paintings capture the stories that emerge from these interactions between real and imaginary characters. My artworks often offer a dual perspective; they appear differently during the day and at night. Some may contain hidden elements visible under X-rays or with temperature changes. Certain physical works incorporate augmented reality elements as well. My works evoke a strange sense of uncanniness, as the boundary between the real and the imaginary, between the human and the doll, between the physical and the digital, is frequently blurred.
