Lives and works in London, UK
Artist statement
My practice interrogates inner and outer phenomena on micro and macro scales. Motifs of the body, flora and fauna of my hometown on the Chesapeake Bay, and buildings and scenes from my life in London, are layered syntactically to examine regenerative systems, and where the passage of time can lead us. Diagrammatic language is appropriated and skewed, in recognition of the shortcomings of understanding. Emphasizing the painting as an object, I work fluidly between elliptical, rectangular, and irregular surfaces, with traces of these forms echoed within their compositions.
